Coordinator Position Descriptions

The following are the committee coordinator position descriptions:

 

Facilities Committee

3 x Committee Members – The Committee Members will help the facilities director and the field crew foreman make recommendations to the board of directors and will be available to help volunteer to complete tasks to ensure our facilities are top notch (eg. like putting the netting up in cages)

 

Community League Committee

Girls Baseball Coordinator – To assist SPMBA with the girls baseball goals of Baseball Alberta and try and grow the game of baseball for our female athletes.

5U, 7U, 9U, 11U, 13U and 15U/18U Coordinators – The Community League Coordinators will complete the following:

January thru March

Main Liaison with applicable division
Attend Committee Meetings.
Provide feedback on all CL documentation (parent handouts, coaches package and division rules), website, social media
Provide feedback on registration and team management process facilitated through Team Snap
Recruit coaches / assistant coaches, administration team will provide access to data from Team Snap
April Assist with and attend evaluations. (9U & up)
After evaluations work with admin team and assist as required to create balanced teams.
Assist with and attend Coaches Meeting  (follow-ups – coaches must have the Respect in Sport and Criminal records check).
Assist with and attend “Baseball Day” – all teams attend in their time slot (pictures, uniforms, Q & A)
Assist with and attend divisional practices (9U & up)
May/June

 

Assist with and attend applicable tournament (lend a hand when possible for all tournaments)

May 22-24 11U / 13U CL Tournament
June 5-7 7U / 9U Cl Tournament
June 6 5U CL Tournament
7U & 9U Organize Rally Cap Evaluations (ensure we have inventory of hats and report cards)
11U and up end of June season playoffs (ensure we have ordered and hand out Medals)
End of Season Equipment / Uniform Return – assist as required
During Season Keep in contact with coaches to see if they require any help and/or assistance from Technical Director.
Attend as many ballgames as possible to see if everything is going well, talk with the coaches and make sure everything is working out for them.
Talk with parents/guardians and players to see how season is going for them and areas SPMBA can improve.
Respond to questions / inquiries via emails or phone calls and if not sure of answer as VP’s or Admin team.

 

Sherwood Park Athletics Commitee (Rep)

11U, 13U, 15U, 18U, Provincial A Coordinator

January

Main Liaison with applicable division

Attend Committee Meetings.
Provide feedback on all rep documentation, website, social media
Provide feedback on registration and team management process facilitated through Team Snap
Recruit coaches / assistant coaches, administration team will provide access to data from Team Snap
February – April Assist with and attend evaluations (hand out stickers, ensure attendance and equipment is ready)
After evaluations work with admin team and assist as required to create teams. Ensure team budget is appropriate and follows policy
Assist with and attend Parent Meetings  .
Assist with and attend “Baseball Day” – all teams attend in their time slot (pictures, uniforms, Q & A)

 

May – August

End of Season Equipment / Uniform Return – assist as required

Be a liaison for Off-Field Managers, parents and coaches.

Help with any hosting of provincials
During Season Keep in contact with coaches to see if they require any help and/or assistance from Technical Director.
Attend as many ballgames as possible to see if everything is going well, talk with the coaches and make sure everything is working out for them.
Talk with parents/guardians and players to see how season is going for them and areas SPMBA can improve.

Tournament Committee

5U/7U/9U Coordinator – Lead the organizational team in getting the Community League Tournament organized, implementing the tournament strategy and ensuring that the weekend runs smoothly.  Duties may include finding sponsors, creating swag bags, communications with teams, schedule creation and implementation etc.

11U/13U Coordinator – Lead the organizational team in getting the Community League Tournament organized, implementing the tournament strategy and ensuring that the weekend runs smoothly.  Duties may include finding sponsors, creating swag bags, communications with teams, schedule creation and implementation etc.

Doc Plotsky Baseball Coordinator – This coordinator position is the tournament director position and is designed to incorporate all the baseball parts of running this tournament, including recruiting teams, registration and schedule creation.  The position will also be expected to be around the fields helping to ensure that everything runs smoothly.

Doc Plotsky Tournament Coordinator – Lead the organizational team to ensure that all non baseball related tournament goals are met.  This may include concessions, food truck, facilities (washrooms etc), organizing tournament clothing etc.

 

Uniforms, Apparel and Equipment Committee

Equipment Coordinator – Ensure that all equipment is organized, in good working order and that teams have what they need.  This role will also oversee the ordering and organizing of new equipment.

Uniform Coordinator – Will ensure that all Community League teams have their uniforms and that they are in good shape.  The role will also oversee the replacement of damaged jerseys and make sure all sets are in good working condition.

2 x Committee Member – Will help with the design of our brand and create clothing and jerseys for all teams.  This will include the rep jerseys and warmups, community league athlete clothing in both SPMBA and Strathcona Pirates designs and fan-wear.

 

Sponsorship and Fundraising Committee

Raffle/Casino Director – Will ensure that all raffle and casino’s meet ALGC standards and are organized in time.

Fundraising Coordinator – To ensure that SPMBA fundraising goals are met.
