Overview:

Sherwood Park Minor Baseball Association (SPMBA) is actively seeking enthusiastic and experienced Head Coaches for multiple age divisions, including 11U, 13U, 15U, and 18U, to lead our teams for the upcoming season. We are dedicated to fostering a positive and growth-focused baseball environment for young athletes. If you have a passion for the game, a proven coaching record, and a commitment to player development, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and utilize teachable moments to enhance players’ skills and personal development, including discipline, teamwork, and leadership.
• Develop game strategies, lineups, and player rotations for your respective age group.
• Lead and facilitate practice sessions, games, and tournaments.
• Manage some administrative tasks, including communication with parents and player evaluations.
• Collaborate effectively within the coaching team and align with the organizational structure and goals of SPMBA.

Experience:

• Must meet the minimum NCCP (National Coaching Certification Program) and other coaching requirements as defined by Baseball Alberta.
• Previous playing experience at a high-level baseball is considered an asset.

Position Information:

• The position will commence shortly before the evaluation process in January/February
• Expected commitment includes 2 – 3 practice sessions per week and 3 – 5 games for your respective age group.
• The Head Coach will actively participate in the evaluation process for all rep teams.
• Regular season games will start in late April and continue until late July, with potential post-season play in August.

Honoraria:

• Coaches may be eligible for an honorarium, with amounts determined based on experience.
• Eligible travel expenses, including a per diem, may be covered by the team/association.
• In alignment with SPMBA policy, all coaches, including assistant coaches for the respective age groups, may be reimbursed for necessary expenses related to coach training.
